The word Mutya originated from the morphemes "Mu" and "Mut" which literally and figuratively signify ‘mother,’ ‘origin,’ ‘foundation’ and ‘essence.’ As symbolic sign, it serves as a model of what is ‘precious’ and ideal; as archetypal symbol – of Womanhood and the Divine Self. In the Philippines,it tells a traditional story of an ancient nymph who used to appear either as a mermaid or a maiden of great beauty. She was believed to inhabit a cave beneath the river who gave the inhabitants prosperity and happiness.

We hope these earrigns can bring justice to it's name and bring out your great beauty. The piece features unique baroque pearls dangling on a round studs.
